Hey there Friend! My name is Devin McCorkle CD(DONA), founder and owner of Elevate Elation Doula Services. I would relish the opportunity to be your doula! Growing up I was gifted the endearing nickname “Mama” by my peers and as it turns out, that is my favorite and most accomplished role in life. I have four amazing children: Bentley, Alyssa, Ezekiel and Connor. Brandon (that’s my husband, best friend and soul mate) and I are blessed to live in the charming yet languid little southern town of Benson, North Carolina where we raise our kiddos and fur babies. I spent most of my childhood in Wake Forest and landed in Morrisville for the duration of High School where I graduated early in 2013 from Panther Creek. After High School, I did a bit of exploring and tried out a few other states including Virginia, Ohio and Missouri. It really didn’t take me long to realize that North Carolina is my home and is exactly where I belong, right smack dab in the middle of the mountains and the ocean! In my spare time, whenever I can find it, I enjoy reading, writing, playing a video game or two and binge watching my favorite shows. You’ll often find me by the Keurig making another new cup of coffee because I let the last one get cold. My biology teacher used to tell me that I was a “social butterfly,” but I think I’m more of a social chameleon in that I tend to blend in and match the energy of those around me.
Prior to becoming a doula, birth coach, personal birth assistant or whatever else you choose to title my role, I spent nearly ten years as a Dental Assistant. I have always had a heart for serving others and a passion for supporting people through their most vulnerable experiences. As a type 1 diabetic, I take a keen interest in nurturing Mama’s that are dealing with high-risk pregnancies. Each of my four pregnancies and births were so radically different that I have developed a well-versed repertoire of scenarios that allow me to easily adapt to your specific needs. Two of my four were premature births and three of my four babies spent some time in NICU. Some of my own personal experiences have led me to the desire to educate, support and empower women to advocate for themselves and the positive birth experience they deserve! That is why I will help you to develop a well-tailored and completely personalized birth plan so that you can enter that delivery room with confidence.
Hello! My name is Colleen Gootee. I joined the team in mid 2024 and am looking forward to all of the positive professional growth to come. Serving others has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m honored to help you create the birth experience you desire and deserve.
My journey into the doula and birth-worker world began after working with Devin as my doula during my own birth experience, and supporting several friends through theirs. This led me to a calling to this work, and I’m excited to support others through their unique journeys.
People often describe me as a passionate empath who invests wholeheartedly in my work and relationships. I’m a professional problem solver, servant leader, and educator with a deep sense of care. My background in engineering and process management helps me tackle challenges effectively, while my intuition guides me in understanding and supporting people from diverse backgrounds. Whether you’re looking to integrate spirituality or faith, lead with evidence and data, or embrace a holistic perspective, my goal is to empower you to have the experience you want.
Outside of work, I cherish being a mom to our daughter and fur-baby. My husband and I love hiking, road cycling, and running, and we enjoy spending time with our extended families. Having lived around the world, we’ve found our home in North Carolina and have called the Cary area home for over seven years.

“The wisdom and compassion a woman can intuitively experience in childbirth can make her a source of healing and understanding for other women.”

My Credentials
Elevate Elation Doula Services is proudly licensed in the state of North Carolina and insured with CM&F.
I am an active member of DONA International and completed my birth doula training and certification with Melissa Harley, AdvCD/BDT(DONA), LCCE, CLC, FACCE. I am a current member of B.A.B (Build A Birth NC) which is a local collaborative collective of birth work professionals! Even though I am a well-versed and confident Birth Doula, I am continuing to work on several CE’s in order to provide my clients a higher “gold standard” in continuity of care including Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
I aim to keep my monthly clientele under 4 so that I am able to provide undivided and personalized care for each family I support. While I often provide services for low-risk pregnancies and support traditional hospital births, homebirths and free-births, I have experience with and a passion for high-risk scenarios such as diabetes, pre-eclampsia, twin pregnancies, low platelet count, placenta previa and RH incompatibilities. I have also recently begun supporting several couples on the TTC journey and I share my knowledge, advice and experiences in that realm freely!
What My Clients Are Saying
Meet the back-up!
Hello, my name is Amanda Smith. Family and babies have always been something I have had a heart for. From the time I started babysitting at 12 until I sent our last foster son off to his forever home in 2023, families and babies have been a part of my life. I am passionate about all aspects of supporting families during the pre and post-birth process, regardless of the outcome.
